Aloha!

The rainbow is a symbol of hope, healing, and blessings for all!

Each healing modality is like a particular color of the rainbow, but every single one is powered by the white light that unites all creation into its essence: pure love.

Healing occurs naturally when the body-mind is allowed to deeply relax, and bodywork is a powerful bridge to knowing who you really are, to inner transformation. Join me for this body-mind-spirit adventure!

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word representing universal life force energy, the energy which is all around us and within us. Reiki brings us into more perfect balance on all levels using life force energy, or “ki”. Reiki is indicated for all types of physical ailments, as well as emotional or spiritual difficulties. It supports the natural healing process by going straight to the root of the problem, and can never do harm.

Craniosacral Therapy

Developed by osteopathic physician John Upledger, Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and improving the functioning of the craniosacral system, which is made up of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral system extends from the bones of the skull, the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone.

Lymph Drainage

Developed by Bruno Chikly M.D., Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) is a powerful manual technique that improves the circulation of lymph fluid in the body, assisting with immune function, detoxification, tissue regeneration, and relaxation. LDT uses gentle manual maneuvers to aid in the re-circulation of body fluids. Using a light touch, trained therapists are able to detect the specific rhythm, direction, depth, and quality of lymph flow anywhere in the body and redirect it in new healthier pathways.

Raindrop Technique

Raindrop Technique was developed by D. Gary Young along with a Lakota medicine man in the 1970s. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses therapeutic grade essential oils along the spine, various application techniques, and a type of ancient reflexology called Vita Flex, to realign the body structurally and electrically.

Lomi Lomi

A student of Kumu Keonaona Kalua of Waianae, Liza is honored to practice this ancient Hawaiian art for healing the spirit, mind, and body. Aunty Keonaona's school, Ho'ola Mai Ke Alaula (Healing from the New Age), begins with several days of formal instruction and then expands into a 400-hour community service practicum. Liza completed her practicum at Waimanalo Health Center and Waimanalo Kupuna Housing's Community Center and received her certification as a Native Hawaiian Practitioner in 2002.

Emotional Harmony

Liza includes techniques that balance the emotional body in all her sessions and has received training in a variety of emotional healing work.  She also teaches many of these tools to her clients, both during sessions and in occasional workshops. All these techniques allow the mind and body to rest while held emotions gently release, restoring the free flow of energy which is natural to us.

Essential Oils

The oldest medicines known, essential oils were used all over the ancient world. Modern science recognizes the power of therapeutic-grade essential oils to support the body and mind in literally thousands of ways. The lifeblood of the plant world, essential oils have a powerful effect on every system of the body, including the immune system, circulation, digestion, nervous system, and musculoskeletal system. They also enhance mood, have a calming effect, and aid in deep emotional and spiritual healing.

About Liza

Liza Edwards, MPH,

Liza Edwards, MPH,

Reiki Master

I began my healing path after experiencing a year and a half of constant illness, culminating in back surgery for a herniated disc in 1992. Tired of living with lingering pain, I accepted a free Reiki session at a conference in Boston in 1995, and it changed my life. I began going for Reiki treatments, and my back injury healed completely during the third session, to my surprise and delight. I continued receiving regular Reiki treatments for six months before taking First Degree and Second Degree Reiki in 1996. The more I received Reiki, the more I saw positive changes in myself, my relationships, and my spiritual connection.

I moved to Hawaii in the Fall of 1996 to begin a Masters of Public Health program in Health Education at the University of Hawaii. During an internship for school, I met Maureen O’Shaughnessy and knew instantly that she would be the one to initiate me as a Reiki master in Usui Shiki Ryoho. Over a year later, I began my preparation as a Reiki master and was initiated in February of 2000. Reiki is still my greatest teacher, and sharing Reiki is one of my greatest joys!

I first experienced Craniosacral Therapy (CST) shortly after becoming a Reiki master, in the hands of one of my dear Reiki sisters, and immediately knew I wanted to learn this powerful yet gentle work. Since the first class, CST has been my modality of choice when not practicing Reiki, which I generally offer as a stand-alone technique. My experience has been that Reiki can do anything, so if it is requested I offer it first for every situation. If Reiki is not requested, I begin with Craniosacral Therapy, which really is a different vehicle for the same energy. To me, everything is energy at its foundation, and so any healing system of value must have an energetic component by definition.

My Manoa roommate introduced me to Young Living Essential Oils in 1996, and now it is hard to imagine life without them! They are in my medicine bag, my personal care items, and my supplements, and it is a pleasure to share them and to teach others to share them. In Waimanalo, Auntie Keonaona Kalua spent a year teaching me the beautiful Hawaiian medicine modality called Lomi Lomi, which I like to explain as "moving energy through muscles". Lymph Drainage arrived in the form of Bruno Chikly when he came to offer a demonstration of his work during a CST class, and I could not believe the physical changes happening before my eyes! So you see, each technique I offer my clients is one which has touched me deeply and so all of them are a gift for me to share.

Of late my focus has shifted from the physical body to the emotional and spiritual bodies. Alaya Chikly helped me understand emotions more deeply in her Heart-Centered Therapy class, and then I began learning Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or Tapping, through a 10-day summit offered by Nick Ortner. Meditation has become the dearest treasure in my life over the past few years, and has allowed me to experience more joy than I ever imagined was possible. I love sharing the gift of meditation with all who express interest! I believe that in our natural state, we are love, we are meditation, we are Reiki, and we are pure positive energy. My role as a healing practitioner is to help my clients allow the well-being which is natural to flow.
