Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese word representing universal life force energy, the energy which is all around us and within us. Reiki brings us into more perfect balance on all levels using life force energy, or “ki”. Reiki is indicated for all types of physical ailments, as well as emotional or spiritual difficulties. It supports the natural healing process by going straight to the root of the problem, and can never do harm.

Usui Shiki Ryoho was developed by a man named Mikao Usui in late nineteenth-century Japan. Through extensive study, travel, research, and meditation, he developed this healing system. Reiki was brought to the West by a woman from Hawaii named Hawayo Takata in the 1940's and continues to be passed on from master to student.
During a Reiki session, the client lies down fully clothed on a Reiki table, while the practitioner places her hands over various energy centers of the body as well as any affected areas. Most people experience a deep sense of relaxation and peace during the treatment.
Reiki classes are open to anyone- anyone can learn Reiki! Reiki is a powerful tool for self-healing, and those who take a Reiki class have the ability to use Reiki for themselves and others for the rest of their lives. First Degree Reiki is a beginner class open to all, and Second Degree Reiki is an optional advanced class for those who wish to go deeper in their practice.
Liza learned First Degree Reiki and Second Degree Reiki from Robin Scott Manna in 1996 and was initiated as a master by Maureen Pua'ena O'Shaughnessy in 2000. She has been blessed to know and learn from Phyllis Lei Furumoto, Mrs Takata’s granddaughter, and Lineage Bearer of Usui Shiki Ryoho.
Liza offers sessions in her Kailua office, and long distance when in-person treatment is not possible. Clients are invited and encouraged to receive four treatments in a row initially to begin treatment.
First Degree Reiki Classes are like a personal retreat and include four initiations, sharing the Reiki story, and teaching self-treatment and treatment of others with plenty of time for hands-on practice.
Second Degree Reiki Classes are available for those who are ready to partner with Reiki in a more intimate way and include teaching the three Reiki symbols, Mental Treatment, and Distance Reiki. Second Degree Classes involve fewer hours and a greater level of commitment.

Craniosacral Therapy
Developed by osteopathic physician John Upledger, Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and improving the functioning of the craniosacral system, which is made up of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral system extends from the bones of the skull, the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone.

Using a soft touch usually no greater than 5 grams, or the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to allow the central nervous system to function better. The delicate manipulations of Craniosacral Therapy are so subtle and relaxing that most clients relax deeply or sleep during their sessions.
Liza began her training with the Upledger Institute in 2000, and has been both practicing and benefiting from regular sessions herself ever since!
Conditions that may be improved with Craniosacral Therapy include:
- Central Nervous System Disorders e.g. Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS
- Emotional Difficulties e.g. Depression, Stress, PTSD
- Digestive and Hormonal Problems e.g. Colitis, PMS
- Chronic Pain e.g. Headaches, Neck, and Back Pain, Fibromyalgia, TMJ
- Infantile Disorders and Learning Disabilities e.g. Colic, ADD
- Orthopedic Problems and Motor Coordination Impairments e.g. Scoliosis, CP
- Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
- And Many Other Conditions
Lymph Drainage
Developed by Bruno Chikly M.D., Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) is a powerful manual technique that improves the circulation of lymph fluid in the body, assisting with immune function, detoxification, tissue regeneration, and relaxation. LDT uses gentle manual maneuvers to aid in the re-circulation of body fluids. Using a light touch, trained therapists are able to detect the specific rhythm, direction, depth, and quality of lymph flow anywhere in the body and redirect it in new healthier pathways.

LDT works to bring balance both inside and out. When applied on the face, the detoxification and regeneration of tissues creates a visible glow and overall improvement of the skin. The best part is, the treatment is extremely relaxing and good for our health, from the inside out!
Liza was honored to complete the first two levels of training with Dr. Chikly himself and the third level with his trainer, David Doublestein, MSPT.
Conditions that may be improved with Lymph Drainage Therapy include:
- Skin conditions e.g. acne, aging skin, eczema, rosacea
- Chronic pain e.g. headaches, arthritis, sinus problems, fibromyalgia
- Digestive problems e.g. constipation, irritable bowel syndrome
- Edema (swelling) and sports injuries
- Toxicity e.g. help with detoxification programs
- Stress e.g. depression, anxiety, insomnia
- Immune system challenges e.g. chronic infections, HIV disease
Raindrop Technique
Raindrop Technique was developed by D. Gary Young along with a Lakota medicine man in the 1970s. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses therapeutic grade essential oils along the spine, various application techniques, and a type of ancient reflexology called Vita Flex, to realign the body structurally and electrically.

Raindrop Technique is primarily used to:
- Support a healthy spine
- Detoxify the body
- Maintain the immune system
- Balance the emotions
Raindrop Technique uses a series of powerful oils to support the spine's health. The main oils used are thyme, oregano, wintergreen, cypress, peppermint, basil, and marjoram. The oils are applied like raindrops 6 inches above the back, feathered up the spine using a very light touch, and worked along the vertebrae using specific techniques for each layer of the anatomy i.e. bones, nerves, muscles, etc. Then the client is covered with a warm towel to enhance the penetration of the oils and relaxation. It feels like heaven!
Liza was first trained by Sophie Ann Aoki, LMT, and has attended multiple Raindrop seminars over the years with trainers from Young Living Essential Oils, most recently Gary Young himself. Many of her clients come for Raindrop sessions exclusively because they experience such powerful benefits!
Lomi Lomi
A student of Kumu Keonaona Kalua of Waianae, Liza is honored to practice this ancient Hawaiian art for healing the spirit, mind, and body. Aunty Keonaona's school, Ho'ola Mai Ke Alaula (Healing from the New Age), begins with several days of formal instruction and then expands into a 400-hour community service practicum. Liza completed her practicum at Waimanalo Health Center and Waimanalo Kupuna Housing's Community Center and received her certification as a Native Hawaiian Practitioner in 2002.

Lomilomi is a holistic practice that alleviates stress, headaches, muscle aches, carpel tunnel, tennis elbow, digestive difficulties, back problems, and emotional/spiritual challenges. The muscles are worked using the whole hand, with the focus on the areas of need as stated by the client. The touch may be gentle or deep as needed. Herbs may be prescribed, and prayer is the foundation of the practice.
Liza incorporates Lomi into her bodywork sessions as needed to open up the flow of energy and bring soothing relief to body and spirit.
Emotional Harmony
Liza includes techniques that balance the emotional body in all her sessions and has received training in a variety of emotional healing work. She also teaches many of these tools to her clients, both during sessions and in occasional workshops. All these techniques allow the mind and body to rest while held emotions gently release, restoring the free flow of energy which is natural to us.

- SomatoEmotional Release - During bodywork, emotions are often released which have been held by the body, and this modality is the emotional adjunct to Craniosacral Therapy, developed by osteopath John Upledger. Learn more!
- Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils - Developed by Carolyn Mein, D.O., this healing system combines acupuncture points, muscle testing, affirmations, and essential oils to clear emotional patterns. Learn more!
- Heart-Centered Therapy - Developed by Alaya Chikly, LMT, this loving, gentle approach to dialoguing with the body releases old trauma at its inception and is the emotional adjunct to Lymph Drainage Therapy. Learn more!

- Meditation - Meditation dismantles emotional roadblocks so we can directly experience the flow that we are, and Liza delights in sharing this gift with her clients who wish to experience it!
Essential Oils
The oldest medicines known, essential oils were used all over the ancient world. Modern science recognizes the power of therapeutic-grade essential oils to support the body and mind in literally thousands of ways. The lifeblood of the plant world, essential oils have a powerful effect on every system of the body, including the immune system, circulation, digestion, nervous system, and musculoskeletal system. They also enhance mood, have a calming effect, and aid in deep emotional and spiritual healing.
Learn More
Therapeutic-grade oils — the ones with healing properties — make up only 2% of the oils produced in the world! The majority of products sold as essential oils have been adulterated with pesticides, alcohol, or synthetic fillers, or have been distilled incorrectly, and thus may have no effects or negative effects and should be avoided. Liza has used Young Living Essential Oils exclusively for over 20 years and has not found any other source to be of anywhere near the same quality. She has been blessed to train directly with the founder of Young Living, D. Gary Young, to travel with him internationally, and to receive training in many hands-on applications.
Liza uses Young Living oils personally all day long, in her personal care products, cleaning products, supplements, and straight out of the bottle! With clients, she uses them in the Raindrop Technique, and in all bodywork sessions. She helps her clients to access their own oils so they can benefit every day, and loves to help her grateful clients pay it forward as they share them with friends.
